After Gateway installation, the Gateway will run without an account and will use the Introductory tier plan by default. The Gateway provides the node access to the BDN and will speed up block and transaction propagation to and from the node that it is peered with. This is also true when running a Gateway without an account.
Additional tiers enable new functionality to users. For paid tiers, the Gateway must be associated with an account. The most noticeable features include transactions streaming and using the API to send transactions fast. View a comparison of the different plans here.
How to Run Your Gateway With Account
1. Register an account
2. Download the artifacts and unzip the contents based on the instruction below. It is important that you do not rename the folder name after extracting the zip file.
3. Restart the Gateway
4. Verify that the certificate was loaded by examining the gateway log file. You should see the following log line:
INFO - "NodeSSLService is successfully loaded."
